But...

But again, that's about it. Otherwise I would never even come close to considering enrolling my kids here if I were you. I am pleading at this point, DO NOT make the same mistake my parents did when they enrolled me and my sisters here.

Money makes it possible to have better sporting equipment, technology and (usually) up to date textbooks. The education is pretty good for the most part, and a lot of the curriculums are easier to understand. My sisters have been doing tremendously better in their classes.

I'm surprised this district meets minimum requirements.

Treats it's students terribly, gives parents hard times about how they raise their children, doesn't stay out of a family's business. This school is not ok unless you're only here for education. But I am giving a VERY fair warning: Don't do something that could get CPS called in, because that's what they do. Check in with your child ALWAYS. Something will go wrong with a child's behavior once and they think it's a big deal. They call CPS and freak out over stupid things. Then, they threaten students by telling them they'll get taken away from their parents if they don't act right. (And given the situation my sister was in, it was a minor problem that could've been solved by a parent's discipline.) The district lies and deceives as well. If you come here and ask if bullying is a problem, they'll tell you no, but the many victimized students can say otherwise. OH, and don't even get me started on the total racism and sexism. There's plenty more than just that. The school is homophobic and transphobic as well. If you have a sensitive kid, and you're looking for a fresh start, just walk away from this school because it will provide you with the exact opposite of that. The school also (without realizing it) instills Christianity. (In other words, if you're not Christian you're not welcome.) In one year, a third of the kids in my grade moved away because of the school and the way it treats its students. The food isn't very healthy either. My sisters and I have all gotten sick at least once because of the awful food. (Fly in the food, bad grapes.)Then, the school is also cheap. If you break or "break" something that the school gives you, you have to pay more than triple the amount of what it's actually worth. I "broke" an iPad charger cord and they told me I had to pay 19$ for the whole thing, when I could've replaced it with a five dollar version that works just the same. (They don't even accept replacements.) Just saying, if you think of enrolling your child here because it looks friendly and safe, you should go and ask the students AND parents who have to experience the actual way the school works. The younger children might not always have it as bad as the older students, but either way the school is awful.
